Our Story

Since its foundation, Ongresso has evolved into a small but growing multinational company with offices in Colombia and Peru and a strong network across the region. What hasn’t changed is our passionate belief in the potential of Latin America which we like to share with our clients. Let’s unlock Latin America together!

Everything starts

2010

Two friends, Daniel Breitenmoser and Ulrich Hinterberger, move from Switzerland to Colombia and start doing business in Bogota. Their goal: to highlight the huge potential of Latin America to foreign entities and support them in successfully doing business in the region.

Ongresso moves to Medellin

2011

Ulrich Hinterberger retires from his operational involvement in the company. Daniel Breitenmoser moves Ongresso from rainy Bogota to sunny Medellin. At the same time, a holding company is being established in Switzerland and the company grows its network in Latin America, primarily in the countries of the Pacific Alliance.

We launch our proprietary Ongresso process

2014

We launch our proprietary Ongresso process – a set of services and solutions that supports our clients during all phases of doing business in Latin America. From market investigation to business modelling, from market entry to operations, Ongresso is your Latam business partner.

We expand our services

2015

We add back office and legal support to our project-based approach to become a full-service provider.

We expand our presence

2016

Ongresso Peru is founded in Lima. Ongresso Colombia continues to grow and moves to larger offices in Medellin.

Ongresso opens its office in Peru

2017

Mario Urech joins Ongresso as CMO and Country Manager Peru, strengthening our presence in the Andean country.

Ongresso reorganizes

2018

Ongresso reorganizes into three business units: Local Sales Support, Local Operations, Local Market Intelligence. We refine our vision to express our ambition: “Unlock the potential of Latin America”.
